Want to visualize your next viral video in seconds?

This guide will show you how to use Syllaby’s powerful AI Storyboard tool to turn a simple text prompt into a fully structured, scene-by-scene video blueprint.

Planning a video can feel overwhelming when you're staring at a blank screen. That’s where the Syllaby Storyboard comes in. It takes your rough video concepts and automatically maps out the visual scenes, pacing, and style.

Think of it as your digital director, helping you see your finished video before you even hit record.

Whether you’re creating a quick TikTok or a detailed YouTube tutorial, this tool saves you hours of brainstorming and keeps your production perfectly organized.

The Steps

  1. Log in to your Syllaby account.

  2. Find the Storyboard tile on your main dashboard and click Create Now.

  3. You will see two options to kick off your project: Generate from Prompt or Add Scene Manually.

  4. Click Generate from Prompt.

  5. Go to the Prompt Box and type in your video concept or core idea.

  6. If you want your video to follow a specific style, click Add Reference to upload an image that matches the look and feel you want.

  7. Head to the Video Duration section and select how long you want your video to be.

  8. Go to the Video AI Model section and choose the specific AI engine you want to use for your visuals.

  9. Look for the Aspect Ratio section and select the layout that fits your target platform.

  10. Go to Resolution and select your desired image quality.

  11. In the Audio section, choose whether you want to include audio in your video or leave it silent.

  12. Click Next.

  13. The system will ask you a few quick questions to fine-tune your video. Select the best answers for your project, clicking Next after every question.

  14. Once you’ve answered all the questions, click Generate.

  15. Sit back for a moment while the system starts creating your custom storyboard.

  16. As soon as your storyboard is ready, you'll automatically move to the Scene Editor.

  17. Add your Last Frame Image to complete your visual sequence.

  18. From here, you can choose how to render your project:

    1. Click Generate Clip if you want to create individual scenes one by one.

    2. Click Generate Clips if you want to create all of your scenes together at the same time.

Syllaby Pro-Tip

Always match your Aspect Ratio to your target platform before you hit generate.

Use 9:16 for vertical platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, or 16:9 for standard YouTube videos.

Getting this right early saves you from awkward cropping issues later!

Quick Fix

Why can't I click the final Generate button?

If the Generate button is greyed out, you likely missed one of the AI's setup questions.

Use the back button to review the questionnaire and ensure you've selected an answer and clicked Next for every single prompt. Also, double-check that you typed a concept into the Prompt Box at the very beginning!
